Cue Corner is set to open in Worcester, offering snooker, pool, and darts for all ages
Worcester: Cue Corner is finally opening its doors on January 25. This new sports bar will have pool, snooker, and darts, making it a great spot for fun.
Adam Townsend and his brother-in-law, Alan Mitchum, have been busy getting everything ready. They’ve been dreaming about this place for a while now.
Adam mentioned that since Riley’s closed in 2020, there hasn’t been much for snooker and darts in Worcester. It’s been a real gap in the community.
He said the county competition had to move to Kidderminster, and the only remaining snooker tables are in social clubs that aren’t open to everyone.
For over two decades, Adam has played pool in county leagues. He’s been searching for a venue for three years to fill the void left in the city.
Finding the right spot hasn’t been easy. He talked about the high rental costs and the need to consider parking and funding.
They’re excited about what Cue Corner will offer. The venue will feature three snooker tables, eight pool tables, and five darts boards, plus a nice selection of food and drinks.
Adam shared that they’ll have a fully licensed bar with a few beers and ciders on tap. The food menu will start simple with pizzas and burgers, but they plan to expand it later.
What’s really cool is their commitment to making everyone feel welcome. Alan emphasized that they want to include people of all ages.
He pointed out that many places are still men-only, but they believe in encouraging kids to play in bars from a young age.
With opening day just around the corner and lots of excitement from the public, Adam and Alan are already thinking about the future.
They see a chance to expand upstairs if things go well, adding even more tables for everyone to enjoy.
