David Thompson’s fiancée blasts his brother Gary for skipping court, impacting ongoing legal battles.
David has been in prison for almost a year due to these allegations. His fiancée, Natalie Currie, believed Gary would attend court. David, known as ‘Monster,’ is waiting for a parole board hearing to see if he can be released.
Last Christmas, David proposed to Natalie in Belfast. He was serving a life sentence for a murder from 2001. In March, he returned to prison after Gary made serious assault claims against him. David told friends he felt betrayed by Gary.
On Monday, a judge dismissed the assault charges after Gary didn’t appear in court. Interestingly, Gary showed up the next day for a driving ban. Natalie quickly took to social media to criticize Gary for his absence.
She posted about David being acquitted of all charges. Natalie expressed her excitement and shared a video of her driving alongside David in a prison van. The couple has had a rocky relationship with Gary for years.
David had previously helped Gary financially when he faced trouble. But their relationship soured again, leading to David’s return to jail. Friends say Gary is jealous of David’s relationship with Natalie.
David believes Gary made up the assault claims to get him back in prison. He was supposed to go on trial for the charges but didn’t show up. The court heard Gary’s claims were uncorroborated and possibly false.
The judge noted that David had been held in custody for ten months due to these allegations. After the prosecution offered no evidence, the judge dismissed the case. The next day, Gary was fined for careless driving.
David Thompson was sentenced to life in 2001 for the murder of Ryan Neill. He served 15 years for that crime.
