The Cheshire Prize for Literature is calling for entries across various categories before the deadline at the end of this month
Chester: The Cheshire Prize for Literature is back, and it’s free to enter! You can submit your work in five categories, including short stories, poetry, and even flash fiction.
This competition has been around since 2003, thanks to some local legends. It’s a big deal in the area and a great chance for writers to shine.
What’s cool is that there’s no entry fee, and winners get cash prizes plus a chance to get published. Dr. Harry Parkin, who’s in charge of judging, is excited to see what everyone submits.
If you haven’t sent in your work yet, don’t worry! Just make sure to do it by the end of this month. The competition is open to anyone connected to Cheshire, whether you live or work there.
You can submit two entries, but they need to be in different categories. There are age groups for kids and adults, so everyone can join in on the fun.
Dr. Parkin mentioned they’re especially eager to see what adults come up with for the new flash fiction category. Winners will be announced at a special awards night in the summer, and their work will be published later.
