Tiverton: There’s been a real mess with the broadband rollout in Mid Devon and Exmoor. It’s frustrating for folks trying to get decent internet.

According to the House of Commons Library, the Tiverton and Minehead area has a whopping 11.2% of lines getting speeds under 10 Mbps. That’s way worse than the national average of 3.6%. It’s no wonder people are upset.

CDS, which stands for Connecting Devon and Somerset, had a deal with Airband UK to improve things. But now, Airband is scaling back, leaving thousands of homes in the lurch without better connections.

In November, MP Rachel Gilmour raised a question about this mess. She wanted to know what the government plans to do to help rural households in her area get better broadband.

After hearing about the recent meeting, Rachel said it’s crucial to have fast internet these days. She’s been hearing from people in Tiverton and Minehead who are fed up with slow Wi-Fi and broken promises about connections. Many feel completely cut off.

Rachel has already brought this up with the Minister before and is looking forward to meeting with Chris Bryant. She hopes to get some good news about improving broadband so everyone can enjoy high-speed internet, which is so important in today’s world.
