Warrington saw 194 new babies born in December, with a mix of boys and girls arriving at the hospital and at home
In December, 194 little ones made their debut—104 boys and 90 girls. The lightest baby weighed just 5lb 1oz, while the heaviest tipped the scales at a whopping 10lb 5oz. Can you believe it?
The busiest days for births were December 10, 14, 23, and 27, with 10 babies arriving on each of those days. There were also seven babies born in the midwifery-led unit, along with a mix of elective and unplanned Caesarean sections.
Out of the total, 79 were vaginal births, and 12 were assisted deliveries. Interestingly, about 38% of the babies were induced. Four babies were born at home, and there were seven water births. Plus, a great 76% of the babies were breastfed, and 82% got that all-important skin-to-skin contact right after birth.
Every month, the hospital invites parents to share photos of their new arrivals. These adorable little ones get featured in an online article and a special supplement at the start of each year. If you’re expecting this year, keep an eye out for those photo requests at the end of each month!
