Bridgwater: The Dunball Roundabout roadworks are moving along well. The project costs £10.7 million, funded by the government and developers. It aims to improve traffic flow and safety for everyone.

Currently, work is happening on the A38 Bristol Road, heading north. This is just one of several roadworks in the area. Sir Ashley Fox MP mentioned that these changes are causing delays for cars and buses.

When finished, the roundabout will be improved and signalized. A new ‘throughabout’ lane will help traffic move more smoothly, especially during busy times.

The project also includes better paths for pedestrians and cyclists along the A38. This route will connect the Gravity site to the town center, making it easier for everyone to get around.

Councillor Richard Wilkins emphasized the importance of this project. He noted that it will help reduce delays and improve access for pedestrians and cyclists.

He also mentioned that Bridgwater is seeing major investments, which will boost the local economy. However, the ongoing work on the Celebration Mile and Agratas power supply is putting pressure on the road network.

While it would be ideal to stagger the projects, they all have strict deadlines. The goal is to minimize disruption as much as possible during this busy time.

Most improvements will happen with lane closures and temporary traffic signals. However, there will be some short evening closures of the link road between Dunball roundabout and Junction 23.
