A group of eight individuals from South Essex faced sentencing for various offenses, including driving violations and theft
Rayleigh: So, a bunch of folks from South Essex recently got into some trouble and faced the music in court. It’s a mixed bag of offenses, from drink-driving to theft.
First up, we have Ngoc Nguyen, a 38-year-old guy who got caught driving over the limit. He was pulled over on the A13 in Rainham and blew a breath test showing 49 micrograms of alcohol. The legal limit is 35, so he was definitely over. He ended up with a £276 fine and a year-long driving ban.
Then there’s David Mitchell, a 59-year-old from Bowers Gifford. He was speeding on the A13, going over 50mph in a 50mph zone. He got slapped with a £40 fine and a six-month driving ban. Not a great day for him either.
Julia Zivevua, a 37-year-old from Stanford-le-Hope, got fined for not telling the police who was driving her car when they asked. She didn’t respond, and the court hit her with a hefty £660 fine and six penalty points on her record.
In a more serious case, Natasha Nel, 43, from Westcliff, was jailed for eight weeks after assaulting a man in an unprovoked attack. The judge wasn’t having it and also made her pay some compensation.
Chay Ewers, a 23-year-old from Rayleigh, got caught riding a train without a ticket. He was fined £220 and had to pay some extra costs. It’s a reminder to always have your ticket ready!
Another ticketless traveler was Mothepana Lehong, a 70-year-old from Basildon. She boarded a train without a valid ticket and ended up with a fine of £220 as well. Ouch!
Ervin Ciliku, 38, from Billericay, also faced the music for not identifying a driver when he was supposed to. He got fined and slapped with six penalty points too.
Lastly, Bobbie Cook, a 27-year-old from Wickford, admitted to stealing some items worth £20 from Tesco Express. He got a £40 fine and had to pay back Tesco. Not the best way to start the year!
