An Elvis tribute artist brought joy to Fernhill care home, engaging residents in a lively performance that celebrated the King’s timeless music
Dorset: A special event unfolded at Fernhill care home when resident Robert Simpson, a huge Elvis fan, got to enjoy a performance by a talented tribute artist.
Thomas Gabbini, the impersonator, not only sang for the residents but also invited Robert to join him on stage. They belted out two classic Elvis songs, The Wonder of You and It’s Now or Never.
Robert, who used to be a house manager, was thrilled. He said, “I thoroughly enjoyed the chance to sing with Thomas. He had the look, the attitude, and sounded amazing.”
Thomas was equally impressed, noting how well Robert remembered the lyrics. “It was wonderful to perform with him,” he shared. “It was clear it meant a lot to the residents to sing along.”
Cara Duroe, the companionship team leader, praised Thomas for his ability to connect with the residents. She said, “This was a truly fantastic afternoon with lots of singing along, dancing, and reminiscence.”
