Stratford PlayHouse closes its doors for the last time, ending a six-year run.
Stratford: The Stratford PlayHouse is closing its doors for good. The current operator is wrapping up after six years. It’s a big change for the community.
Stratford Town Trust owns the venue. They plan to keep it as a community space. They will announce a new operator soon.
Rebecca Hallworth, the artistic director, is leaving the PlayHouse. She expressed her surprise at the situation. There was some confusion about the closure.
Sara Aspley, CEO of Stratford Town Trust, said they were disappointed by the notice. She thanked Hallworth and the team for their hard work.
Hallworth also thanked everyone for their support over the years. She said it was a special time for the PlayHouse.
A farewell party was held last Friday, featuring the house band, The Appleseeds. It was a wonderful evening for everyone involved.
