Four University of Essex students tragically lost their lives in a car crash, prompting heartfelt tributes from friends and the community.
Essex: In the early hours of Saturday, a car crashed into a building around 4:40 AM. The building also houses SP Thai Therapy and Massage.
Essex Police identified the four students in the car. They were Makyle Bailey, 22, Eva Darold-Tchikaya, 21, Anthony Hibbert, 24, and Daljang Wol, 22.
Anthony and Daljang played for the Essex Rebels men’s basketball team. Makyle was also a basketball player, while Eva danced with the Essex Blades Dance Club.
The road reopened on Sunday. The Gazette opened a book of condolence, and many readers shared their tributes to the four students.
Rae Rae Myers remembered Makyle fondly, saying he was taken too soon. She recalled their laughs and shared memories from Hackney.
