Residents are frustrated as rubbish piles up on Lincoln Drive, prompting local councillors to take action for a clean-up
South Oxhey: It’s been a bit of a mess lately. Rubbish has been dumped all over Lincoln Drive, and folks are not happy about it. The local council is on it, though.
Three Rivers District Council has said that Thrive Homes knows about the situation and will be sorting it out soon. The junk includes everything from old furniture to clothes and bin bags, just left there for everyone to see.
It all came to light when councillors Steve Cox and Steve King got wind of it on Saturday morning. Steve Cox called the whole thing “disgusting” and a real “shambles.”
People living nearby are fed up. Cllr King mentioned that this kind of mess doesn’t do the area any favors. They just want their street to look decent again.
Thrive Homes is expected to give an update on when the rubbish will be cleared. Word is, it might be gone by later today or tomorrow. But as of Tuesday afternoon, it was still sitting there.
