An Evesham family has raised an impressive £4,000 for charity by selling crafts and plants, supporting local causes with heart.
Evesham: Mandy and Bryan Edwards have been on a fundraising mission for nearly 20 years. They support Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Cotswold RDA, which is pretty amazing.
Mandy crafts and sells her creations on Facebook through her page, Cosy Heart Crafts. Meanwhile, Bryan sells donated plants to folks in Vale. It’s a great way to help out!
He got the idea after seeing an ad for bike donations and thought about what happens to house plants when people want a change. So, he created a Facebook page called ‘Charity Plants Evesham’ and it took off!
It’s wild what people drop off at their place. Some plants are ready to sell right away, while others can be split to create even more plants.
Their connection to the charities is personal. Mandy shared that Birmingham Children’s Hospital performed open-heart surgery on their daughter, Bethan, when she was just three days old. Bethan, now 20, has faced several surgeries due to a serious heart condition.
Recently, they also started raising funds for Cotswold RDA, where Bethan loves to ride and volunteer. Their annual Christmas craft event at Leedons Park is a big part of their fundraising.
Last November, the Edwards family donated £2,000 to Cotswold RDA, which was £500 more than the previous year. They also sent the same amount to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. What a fantastic effort!
