A father has been sentenced for horrific abuse, including forcing his kids to eat their pet rabbit, leaving lasting psychological scars.
Market Drayton: A truly awful story has come to light about a dad who was jailed for abusing his kids in the most horrific ways. This guy, 77, put his children through 15 years of pure hell back in the 70s and 80s.
One of the most shocking things? He actually killed their pet rabbit and made the kids eat it for dinner. Can you believe that? He also made them choose between their two dogs, then dumped one in the countryside while they watched it chase after the car. Just heartless.
And it gets worse. He would force one of his daughters, who was terrified of spiders, to lie in the cellar with a spider on her face. They were beaten with sticks for the smallest things, like accidents. It’s just sickening.
This monster, who can’t be named to protect his kids, was sentenced at Shrewsbury Crown Court. The prosecutor laid out how this abuse messed up their lives. All three kids have struggled with their mental health, with some turning to alcohol and one even trying to take their own life.
The dad claimed he was just a strict disciplinarian, but the court saw through that. He was found guilty of multiple counts of child cruelty and actual bodily harm for kicking his daughter. The judge called him a bully and a sadist, and rightly so.
He got three and a half years in jail, but the judge mentioned that back in the day, the maximum sentence for such crimes was only two years. It’s crazy how times have changed, but it’s still not enough for the pain he caused.
