Bradford is gearing up for LGBTQ+ History Month with a lineup of engaging events celebrating activism and key historical figures
There’s a lot happening next month! You can look forward to an intro to LGBTQ+ terms, lessons on liberation history, and talks about Queer South Asians. Plus, there will be special exhibitions at Cartwright Hall and a session on the rainbow flag’s history. Oh, and don’t miss the ramble across Shipley Glen and Baildon Moor!
These events are put together by Bradford Council, the University of Bradford, Out Together, and Equity Partnership. It’s a real community effort!
Libraries in the area will showcase displays about those five historical figures. You’ll also see the LGBTQ+ History Month flag flying high at City Park and the University of Bradford, with City Hall lighting up in rainbow colors. How cool is that?
And there’s more! Youth Ambassadors from the council’s Youth Service are working hard to create resources for young people. They want to make sure LGBTQ+ history sessions happen across the district.
If you want to know more, check out the details at the Bradford Council website. It’s going to be a fantastic month!
