Grantham’s Market Place will host workshops and street entertainment, enhancing community engagement and fun.
Grantham: More fun is coming to town! The Market Place is getting a boost.
South Kesteven District Council is planning drop-in workshops and street entertainment. These will happen in Grantham’s Market Place and Westgate soon.
Activities include balloon modelling, making vegetable animals, and craft workshops. This is part of a plan for outdoor markets in Grantham, Stamford, and Bourne.
Balloon modelling workshops are on the schedule. Paul Stokes, the deputy leader of SKDC, shared the council’s commitment to improving market experiences.
He mentioned that these family-friendly activities are just the start. The events are organized by SKDC’s Grantham engagement manager.
Paul emphasized the importance of keeping the markets lively. They have been a part of the community for over 1,000 years.
The events will run from 10 am to 2 pm in the Market Place and Westgate.
Here’s what’s planned:
• February 1 – Crafters’ market and balloon modelling workshop
• February 8 – Farmers market and vegetable critters workshop
• March 8 – Farmers market and bubble street entertainer
• April 5 – Crafters market, circus workshop, and walkabout clown
