Exciting news for Felixstowe shoppers as Argos plans to move into a new Sainsbury’s store, making shopping even more convenient for everyone
Felixstowe: So, there’s some buzz in town about the Argos store on Hamilton Road. Back in December, folks were wondering what would happen to it after the Co-op announced it was moving to Sainsbury’s.
Since Sainsbury’s bought Argos in 2016, they’ve been popping up in their stores. But until recently, no one knew what was next for the Felixstowe branch.
Well, this week, a spokesperson from Sainsbury’s shared some good news! They’re planning to move Argos into the new Sainsbury’s supermarket opening on Hamilton Road this year. How cool is that?
They mentioned that this move is all about making shopping easier for everyone. You’ll be able to grab your groceries and check out thousands of Argos products all in one go!
As for the old Co-op store, it’s getting a makeover into a Sainsbury’s. We don’t have a specific opening date yet, but it’s expected to be sometime in the first half of 2025.
By the way, the Co-op closed its doors on December 29, and their travel branch moved to a new spot in Great Eastern Square just a bit earlier.
This isn’t just happening in Felixstowe; there’s another Co-op in Brightlingsea that’s also making the switch to Sainsbury’s. Sainsbury’s CEO, Simon Roberts, said these new stores will help them expand and show off what they do best.
