Great news for local residents as the vital bus service will continue, easing worries for those who rely on it for essential travel
Mold: Earlier this month, folks were pretty shocked to hear that the Townlynx number 6 bus service was set to be canceled soon. This bus connects the villages of Pantymwyn, Gwernaffield, Cadole, and Gwernymnydd to Mold, and it’s a big deal for many.
People took to social media to voice their concerns, calling the service a “lifeline,” especially for the elderly and those who might struggle without it. David Coggins Cogan, a local councillor, mentioned how tough it would be for those without cars to get to healthcare or even just to grab groceries.
He was really impressed with how quickly Flintshire Council’s team jumped into action to find a replacement service. Shoutout to Katie, Sarah, Helen, and Michelle for their hard work! They managed to secure P&O Lloyd coaches to take over the renamed f6 service, starting January 27, without costing the council extra.
David expressed relief that a solution was found, saying it was a worrying time for the communities involved. Melissa Morgan, another local councillor, echoed those sentiments, thanking P&O Lloyd for stepping in.
Once the news broke on a local Facebook group, people were over the moon! Comments like “Brilliant news for our community, well done and thank you” showed just how much this service means to everyone. It’s heartwarming to see the community come together like this, especially for the older folks who depend on the bus.
