Ingleby Barwick: Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes are looking to build a new neighborhood. They want to create some “high quality” family homes on land south of Low Lane, close to The Fox Covert pub.

The plan includes mainly four and five-bedroom homes, with detached garages on one side and a mix of sizes on the other. They’re also including 20% affordable housing, some bungalows, and a play area for kids.

Recently, they shared details about how the estate would connect to Low Lane, which will get a new junction and crossings. This is part of a bigger plan to link Ingleby Barwick to Hilton village.

This news comes right after Stockton Council approved a major development of 345 homes in the area. Persimmon Homes and Keepmoat Homes are set to build 339 houses and six bungalows off Welwyn Road, where two other developments are already in progress.

Earlier this year, permission was denied for another 200 homes near Low Lane. Local officials expressed concern about losing more green space for housing.

The developers are promising “enhanced connections” to local amenities, like the Asda petrol station. They plan to create safe walking and cycling routes, including a new junction on Low Lane.

They’re also looking to improve public transport access and provide electric vehicle charging at each home. Plus, they want to keep the area green by preserving existing hedgerows and adding new trees and vegetation.

A public open space is also in the works, featuring parkland trees and other greenery. The final plans will be shaped by feedback from the public consultation before they submit everything to Stockton Council.
