Basingstoke: Conor Holt, Joe Choppen, and Philip Holt are gearing up for an exciting three-day challenge. They’ll be scooting around the Isle of Wight to raise money for the Stroke Association.

Conor and Joe will be on kick scooters, while Philip runs alongside them. They’re doing this to give back to the charity that helped them when their dad had a stroke.

It all started during a family trip to Spain. Their dad, just 58 and always working hard, suddenly had a stroke. It was a tough time, especially being away from home.

After the first stroke, they had to return to the UK, but then they learned he had another stroke. That’s when they reached out to the Stroke Association for help.

Conor shared how amazing the charity was during that stressful time. They guided the family on what to do when their dad returned home, ensuring he got the right care.

Just three days after getting back, doctors were already at their door, ready to help. It was a relief for the family.

While hanging out at the pub, the idea to scoot around the Isle of Wight came up. They thought it would be a fun way to raise money for the Stroke Association, showing their gratitude for the support they received.

Now, their dad attends a support group regularly, connecting with others who have gone through similar experiences. Conor mentioned how strokes can be particularly worrying for younger people.

With Joe by their side, the trio is set to tackle the 65-mile challenge starting April 18. If you want to support them, there’s a way to donate!
