Oxford: Recently, playgroups in Oxford have been buzzing with excitement. Kids are having a great time while helping raise funds for their community. At St Michael’s playgroup, 16 little ones took part in a sponsored ride on various machines. They were all smiles, especially when they found out they raised £150 for a new Wendy House.

The event took place at Summertown church hall, but it wasn’t all fun and games. The group had to say goodbye to their beloved supervisor, Lorna May, who’s moving to Ascot. It was a bittersweet moment for everyone.

Meanwhile, at Shotover, kids were getting creative in a circus workshop. In East Oxford, children aged five to ten enjoyed a play scheme while their parents shopped. They had a blast with their supervisor, Esther Smart, who mentioned that the creche has been a huge success.

In 1989, Jessie Trendell was gearing up for a parachute jump to raise funds for her playgroup at Wood Farm School. She had plenty of support from the 48 kids attending. And let’s not forget the bounce and tumble sessions at Didcot leisure centre, where kids were bouncing off the walls—literally!

It’s heartwarming to see how these playgroups not only provide fun but also foster community spirit. Everyone’s coming together to support local initiatives, and that’s what it’s all about!
