Inverness: I had the chance to chat with Gareth Gates by the River Ness, and it was such a cool experience. I remember watching him on Pop Idol when I was a kid, so it felt surreal to ask him questions at Eden Court.

He’s in town to promote his new show, “Gareth Gates Sings Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons,” which is set for April 3. He’s really excited about it and mentioned that he’s got a fantastic cast and a live band backing him up.

Gareth shared that his parents loved Frankie Valli, so those songs have been part of his life for ages. He’s performing classics like “Can’t Take My Eyes off You” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” He said it’s a show that’ll get everyone dancing and singing along.

Since his Pop Idol days back in 2002, Gareth has done so much, from releasing albums to diving into theater. He’s also working on a new musical called “Speechless,” which is super personal for him since it tackles his lifelong stammer.

He explained that the musical is about a man who struggles to speak and that he’s written eight songs for it. A West End producer is on board, and they’re hoping to bring it to the West End next year. He’s really passionate about sharing how stammering shapes a person’s life.

Gareth can’t wait to perform in Inverness, saying the crowds up north are always more enthusiastic. He loves the vibe and is thrilled to be at such a prestigious venue.

And yes, I totally asked for a picture with him! If you want to catch his show at Eden Court, grab your tickets now. It’s going to be a blast!
