The Turban Tandoori in Giffnock has raised £600 for Epilepsy Scotland, honoring a beloved fan who passed away nearly a decade ago
Giffnock: The Turban Tandoori restaurant has been busy raising funds for Epilepsy Scotland. They collected £600 through their Movember campaign.
This effort was in memory of Martin Kelly, a Queen’s Park FC supporter who tragically passed away from Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy almost ten years ago.
As a sponsor of Queen’s Park FC, the restaurant was moved by the tribute from the Queen’s Park Supporters Association to Martin.
Last year, they also donated £1,000 to Epilepsy Scotland, showing their commitment to charitable work.
Linzi Donald, who works with Epilepsy Scotland, expressed gratitude, saying, “We would love to thank The Turban Tandoori for raising this great amount of money for Epilepsy Scotland.”
She added that their support helps provide essential services for those living with epilepsy in Scotland.
Martin’s passing occurred on the day of a supporter’s club football tournament, while he was at the team’s hotel. This led the club and fans to rally around the cause in his honor.
Jane Roberts, the fundraising manager for Epilepsy Scotland, noted the ongoing support from Queen’s Park FC and the Supporters Association, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness about epilepsy.
