St Ninian’s RC Church in Gourock hosted a lively Scottish show, raising funds for Mary’s Meals and bringing the community together.
Gourock: Recently, volunteers from St Ninian’s RC Church pulled off an amazing fundraising event, raising £2,250 for Mary’s Meals. It was a special Scottish show that really brought everyone together.
The charity was thrilled and shared that the donation would be matched by generous benefactors, pushing the total to an incredible £1.1 million. How awesome is that?
The night featured some fantastic entertainment, including performances from piper MSP Stuart McMillan and Linda Jackson’s Highland dancers. There were also talented young musicians who added to the fun.
These events have been a great way to reconnect the parish community after the pandemic. The group is already planning more activities for 2025, which is exciting!
Father Gerry McNellis, the parish priest, expressed his pride in the volunteers. He said they’ve really stepped up since Covid, working hard to raise money for those in need.
They’ve been supporting both Mary’s Meals and SCIAF, and in doing so, they’ve helped bring everyone in the parish closer together. It’s heartwarming to see such community spirit!
Mary’s Meals is doing incredible work, feeding and educating 2.2 million kids in some of the poorest areas. The spokesperson highlighted how the donations are transforming lives by providing nutritious meals in schools.
Looking ahead, the next fundraiser will celebrate St Patrick’s Day, supporting SCIAF. The group is grateful to everyone who attended the St Andrew’s celebration and made it a memorable night.
