Artist Sam Gaden created a new mural. He works with Aerosol Art, and has done other art around Taunton.

This sunflower artwork honors Yvonne Stone. She founded Green Days Day Care in 2012, a group that helps adults with learning issues. Yvonne lived by “Turn that frown upside down” and sadly passed away in 2021.

Tim Slocombe manages Green Days Day Care. He loved the mural Sam finished in one day. The work took place one Saturday, starting at 9 am and ending at 3 pm.

People using the service like the mural, as sunflowers remind them of Yvonne. Green Days Day Care aids many people, supporting over 100 users in Somerset. Their motto is “care without walls,” and people are often referred to them for aid.

Yvonne Stone began working with adults at 16 at Sandhill Park. Then, she worked at Six Acres in Taunton before starting her own group. Her focus group still runs via Green Days now.

The cafe is at 45 High Street in Taunton. It opened in September 2023 and is open weekdays from 10 am to 3 pm. You can call them at 01823 252757.
