A Greenock man has been found guilty of assaulting his ex-wife with a hammer, leaving her injured and traumatized after a night of drinking.
Greenock: So, there’s this guy, Martin Farmer, who really crossed the line. He got into a nasty fight with his ex-wife after a night out. It was pretty brutal.
During the incident, he started throwing punches at her while she tried to protect herself. She curled up on the sofa, but it didn’t stop him.
Things got even worse when he pulled out a hammer from his pocket and hit her multiple times. Can you believe that? It’s just awful.
They had been friends for a while after their divorce, but that night turned into a nightmare. They were arguing, and the tension was thick.
She described how he punched her in the face, and she ended up with a bloody nose. It’s heartbreaking to hear how scared she must have been.
Even though x-rays didn’t show any broken bones, she suspected she had a rib fracture. She said she heard it crack, which is just chilling.
Farmer tried to claim he was defending himself, saying she hit him first. But the jury didn’t buy it and found him guilty after a trial.
The prosecutor called the attack “brutal and sustained,” and it’s hard to argue with that. He’s facing sentencing soon, and hopefully, justice will be served.
