Families of murder victims express their anguish as the killer faces sentencing in Liverpool Crown Court
Southport: The families of two young girls, victims of a tragic murder, are heartbroken. They’ve labeled their daughters’ killer as “pure evil.” It’s a tough time for them, filled with endless pain.
In Liverpool Crown Court, emotional statements were shared. The mother of seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe and the parents of nine-year-old Alice da Silva Aguiar spoke out against Axel Rudakubana before his sentencing.
These girls were taken from a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in a small business park last July. It was a horrific crime that shocked the community.
Elsie’s mom, Jenny, described Rudakubana as “cruel and pure evil.” She emphasized that his actions were premeditated, targeting vulnerable children without any parents around.
She expressed her pain, saying they wouldn’t list everything he took from them. Instead, she wanted him to feel the weight of his actions every day.
Alice’s parents shared their heartbreak too. They said their “dream girl” was taken in a way that shattered their lives. They felt like their world flipped upside down in just a moment.
They held onto hope during Alice’s fight for life, but when she lost, they felt they lost everything. Their pain is ongoing, and they described it as a lifetime sentence.
Many victim statements were read, including one from the dance class instructor, who struggled with survivor’s guilt. It’s a heavy burden to carry when innocent lives were lost.
