Join Cllr Russell Gordon-Smith and Mike Smales for a delightful cheese tasting evening in Winchester, supporting local charities and enjoying great stories
Winchester: Cllr Russell Gordon-Smith is hosting a fun cheese tasting night with Mike Smales from Lyburn Cheese Farm. It’s happening at Abbey House on Wednesday, February 19, starting at 7pm.
Guests will get to dive into the rich history and craft behind some of Hampshire’s best cheeses. Plus, they’ll sample award-winning cheeses while Mike shares his stories and expertise.
Cllr Gordon-Smith is excited about the event, which supports his Mayoral Charities. The proceeds will go to St John’s Winchester, Winchester Radio, Winchester Sea Cadets, and Hampshire History Trust.
He expressed his gratitude to Mike for volunteering and bringing along cheese samples. Cllr Gordon-Smith is eager to learn more about the cheeses and Mike’s journey in the cheese business.
Mike, who runs Lyburn Cheese Farm, shared that he has plenty of stories to tell, including his journey from making just 5kg of cheese a week to a whopping 2,000kg. He’s also excited to talk about his experiences at the first Winchester Farmers’ Market and trade shows in places like San Francisco and Singapore.
