Chris Vince highlights urgent road safety issues outside Harlow schools, urging action.
Harlow: Chris Vince, the local MP, recently joined a road safety debate. He focused on traffic issues outside schools in Harlow. Many parents have reached out with concerns.
Parents at Little Parndon Primary School are especially worried. They see traffic chaos on Hodings Road every day. This issue will be covered in a separate article.
During the debate, Chris Vince thanked Ms. Jardine for her leadership. He also praised Aphra Brandreth for her strong opening remarks. He expressed sympathy for families affected by road incidents.
Vince shared a concerning event from Pemberley Academy. A car sped around a corner and crashed into the school’s fence. Luckily, it happened on a weekend. If it had been a weekday, children could have been hurt.
Despite a petition from teachers and parents, no action has been taken. Vince acknowledged Essex County Council’s efforts but noted the delays caused by red tape. He hopes the English devolution Bill will empower local communities.
He also praised Essex County Fire and Rescue for their work. Their FireBreak scheme teaches young people about fire safety and road safety. They visit schools to educate students on these important topics.
Vince emphasized that road safety education is vital for all ages. He welcomed the ongoing discussions with local ministers about improving safety around schools.
