Havens Hospices seeks volunteers for the Waddle-on-Sea art trail in Southend, with drop-in sessions scheduled for February and March.
There are drop-in sessions at Fair Havens on February 6 and March 6. These sessions are for anyone wanting to learn more or sign up. Volunteers must be 16 or older and enthusiastic about engaging with visitors.
Volunteers will be part of the ‘Penguin Patrol.’ Their job is to help visitors navigate the trail and care for the sculptures. This role requires walking, so a good fitness level is important.
Kim Hamber, the volunteer experience manager, encourages people to join. She says volunteering is a great way to learn new skills and give back to the community.
The trail runs from July to September. Volunteers are asked to commit at least four hours a week. Training and support will be provided throughout the event.
As a thank you, volunteers will receive a limited-edition t-shirt and a free ticket to the farewell event in September. Interested? Check out waddleonsea.co.uk/get-involved/volunteer for more details.
