The Haverhill Santa team gifted over £4,600 to REACH Community Projects and The Joshua Tarrant Trust, following festive fundraising efforts.
REACH Community Projects got half the money. The Joshua Tarrant Trust received the other half. The total raised was £4,662.40. Santa handed over the cash at a pub, where volunteers and supporters joined him.
Each charity received a cheque for £2,331.20. People from both charities accepted the checks. The Santa sleigh visited Haverhill before Christmas.
Volunteers helped spread holiday cheer, and they also raised money for good causes. They went to Kedington’s Christmas event and Haverhill’s Christmas parade.
Kelly Bennett thanked the Haverhill residents, saying they were very kind and generous. She explained that their donations helped the charities a lot. Joe Mason praised the hardworking volunteers.
He said the event needs the “elves.” He also thanked Kelly, Andy, and Dave. Businesses helped keep the sleigh running. Joe also thanked Drive Green Vehicle Services.
The 41 Club, Thrive Hub and Kedington Parish Council helped as well. Henry Wilson spoke for REACH. He said the Santa Sleigh helps everyone.
Henry added that volunteers gave their time, further explaining that the project brought joy to the town. He said people’s generosity helps REACH serve families.
Denise and Sean Tarrant spoke for their trust. They said it was great to participate again, and they are thankful for the generous donations. The team will bring Santa again next year and they plan to raise even more money then.
They will wear festive hats and jackets again, bringing joy and support to the community.
