Hawes: The Hawes Amateur Operatic Society is gearing up for their latest show, ‘Babes in the Wood’. This fun pantomime was originally penned by Tony Lidington for the Georgian Theatre Royal.

The story follows two princes who are trying to protect their kingdom from their evil uncle, Baron Van Rentle. Sounds like a classic tale, right?

Producer Amy Cockett, who also happens to be a local vet, is super excited. She mentioned they’re teaming up again with Colin Bailey from Blue Boxt Productions and Tony Wilcock, the production manager at the Georgian Theatre.

This year’s cast is quite a mix, with ages ranging from just seven to 72! It’s great to see such a diverse group coming together for this production.

Last year, they had a blast with ‘Mother Goose’, and all the shows were sold out. Daniel Cockett, who played the Demon King, even snagged the Best Panto Villain award at the NODA awards. This time, he’ll be taking on the role of Nurse Goodnight, the dame.

The performances will take place at Hawes Market Hall from January 29 to February 1. Doors open at 7 pm, with shows starting at 7:30 pm. Plus, there’s a matinee on February 1 at 2:30 pm.

If you’re interested, tickets are available online. Don’t miss out on this delightful show!
