Heineken is recalling Newcastle Brown Ale bottles due to a glass risk, urging customers to return unopened products for a refund
Newcastle: Heineken has announced a recall for 550ml glass bottles of Newcastle Brown Ale. This comes after reports of broken glass posing a safety risk.
They found that the glass could fracture when people tried to open the bottles. This could lead to dangerous glass fragments, which is why they decided to act.
A spokesperson from Heineken emphasized that safety is their top priority. They’re asking anyone with these bottles not to drink them and to return them for a refund.
Customers can return the unopened bottles to the store where they bought them, even without a receipt. Heineken is also providing guidance on how to handle the return process.
They’ve reached out to regulatory authorities and are working closely with them on this issue. Heineken apologized for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you have a bottle from the affected batches, it’s best to check the production dates. Only those produced between November 16 and 21, 2024, are impacted.
These bottles have a best before date of November 30, 2025, and include batch numbers L4321 to L4326. Batches outside these dates are safe.
You can find Newcastle Brown Ale in various supermarkets and stores across the UK, including Aldi and Tesco, so it’s good to check your stock.
Remember, if you have one of the recalled bottles, don’t drink it! Just return it for a refund and stay safe.
