Tweedie, a charming gift shop in Helensburgh, has donated £500 to the local foodbank, showcasing community spirit and support.
Helensburgh: The gift shop Tweedie has been doing something really nice for the community. Last November, they teamed up with the Leatherguild to launch a special tartan lambswool scarf. For every scarf sold, they promised to donate £3 to the local foodbank.
Thanks to the popularity of these scarves, they raised £450, and the shop decided to round it up to £500. This week, the foodbank chair and a committee member popped by to pick up the cheque, and it was a lovely moment.
Mairi Clayton, one of the owners, expressed how thrilled they were that the scarves sold so well during the festive season. She mentioned how important it is to support the foodbank, especially as the new year begins.
But that’s not all! Tweedie is also celebrating their new Active Dog Vegan Collection, which has been shortlisted for the Gift of the Year Awards. Mairi shared how proud they are of their Dapper Dog range and how customers have been asking for more practical options for their furry friends.
They created this new vegan range using a strong, machine-washable material that’s perfect for adventurous dogs. Mairi is excited that the quality and design of their products have been recognized by the awards judges.
