A new storage container site in Alness aims to meet rising demand from local businesses and the Inverness and Cromarty Freeport.
They’ve submitted plans to Highland Council for this new venture. The site will be located on vacant land in the Easter Ross Business Park, right next to their headquarters at Averon House.
If everything goes smoothly, they plan to install up to 215 self-storage containers. The installation will happen in phases, depending on how much demand there is.
According to the application, there’s a real need for more storage options in the area. Local facilities are already full, and with the Inverness and Cromarty Freeport opening up, the demand is only expected to rise.
The folks at Pat Munro mentioned that there’s a shortage of suitable storage space nearby. This new site would be perfectly positioned to support the freeport and nearby ports, like Cromarty Firth and Inverness.
They aim to provide secure storage for both businesses and individuals, making it easier for locals to find what they need without having to travel far.
The plan includes access from Dail Nan Rocas road and Averon House. They’re even considering using green containers to blend in with the surroundings, which is a nice touch.
Existing trees will help screen the site from nearby roads, and they plan to put up a two-meter high security fence to keep everything safe.
Overall, it sounds like a solid plan to help the community and support local businesses. If you want to keep up with planning applications, check out the Public Notice Portal.
