Inverness: A bunch of lucky folks from the Highlands and Islands just hit the jackpot, winning around £345,000 in the latest Premium Bonds draw. How cool is that?

The draw revealed 30 winners from the area, with two of them snagging a whopping £50,000 each. While no one took home the top prizes, there were still plenty of smiles with two winners getting £25,000, 13 winning £10,000, and another 13 walking away with £5,000.

According to some new research, the average amount held in Premium Bonds by these winners was about £41,757. Nationwide, December was a big month too, with 1,393 winners of high-value prizes, totaling £42.9 million across 3,029 winners.

Liverpool and Merseyside came out on top, with their winners raking in £1.5 million from just £1.68 million in holdings. That’s a sweet £920 for every £1,000 held!

Corey Sims from CSDB.gg mentioned that with many people feeling the financial pinch as the new year rolls in, Premium Bonds are a great way to ease those worries. They offer a chance to grow savings without risking what you put in, plus the thrill of potentially winning big.

Remember, these draws happen every month, and you could win up to £1 million! If you’re curious about whether you’ve won anything, just grab your holder’s info and check it out online. You’ll need your holder’s number or your NS&I number to get started.
