Inverclyde: The festival was buzzing with excitement as young musicians took the stage. Amber O’Neill, a talented harpist, wowed everyone with her performance, scoring an impressive 96. That’s the highest score the adjudicator has given in a decade!

Jonathan Dobie made the trip from Cardiff to join in the fun. He snagged a first place and two second places in the vocal solo classes. Talk about dedication!

Then there’s Samuel Sheridan, who also shone brightly. He won the operatic class with another stellar score of 96, following in his gran’s footsteps who won the same class back in 1961. He took home the Isa Hamill Trophy, which is pretty cool!

Amber’s performance was so good that she previously won the solo clarsach prize too. Festival president Isabel Lind couldn’t have been happier, saying it was an amazing evening and thanking everyone for their support.

The festival is still going strong and will continue until Saturday, February 1. So, if you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth checking out!
