Royston Hoggarth replaces Tim Williams at Cellhire. Williams, founder, built the global telecom firm over 38 years.
Hoggarth praised Williams, saying he made Cellhire a global brand. Cellhire supported big sports events globally, including FIFA, Rugby World Cups, and the Olympics.
Williams saw a need in 1987: people needed short-term phone rentals. Phone ownership was too costly then, and Cellhire grew substantially from that idea. Now Cellhire offers various products, including IoT and mobile connectivity, serving travel, business, and IoT sectors with strong indirect channels.
Cellhire expanded under Williams, growing in the US, Europe, and Asia. They partnered with big networks like Vodafone, O2, and Verizon. Cellhire even operates as a Full MVNO for Orange.
In 2022, LDC invested in Cellhire, helping them grow further. Williams felt proud of Cellhire’s success over 38 years. He said Cellhire achieved key milestones, like winning the Queen’s Award, connecting NHS COVID centers, and improved election vote counts. The team’s hard work made it all happen.
Williams thinks Hoggarth is a good fit to lead Cellhire forward. He added his tech experience suits Cellhire’s goals. Hoggarth used to work at Arkessa, an IoT operator sold in 2020. He also led England and GB hockey until 2024.
Cellhire’s IoT revenue is now at a record high. Tony Guerion became Cellhire Group CEO last year. Guerion boosted IoT sales to record levels and delivered Orange Events connectivity for the Paris games. Cellhire provides connectivity for big events, supporting the Olympics, FIFA World Cups, and the Rugby World Cup.
