The 30th Caithness FM Toy Appeal brought joy to 400 kids, thanks to the community’s generous donations and support during the festive season
The community radio station reached out for donations of toys, books, and other goodies for children up to 18 years old. Jackie Johnson, the company secretary, shared how worried they were about donations just a week before the big day. But wow, did the community step up!
Jackie expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed, saying it made a real difference for families worried about Christmas. She also thanked collection points and Dunnett’s Funeral Directors for their support.
The volunteers, affectionately called “elves,” played a crucial role in making this happen. Jackie highlighted the teamwork involved, especially with Dounreay helping with transport.
As they wrapped up this year’s appeal, Jackie wished everyone well for 2025, reflecting on the joy they brought to so many children this Christmas.
