Residents of a Kidderminster flat block express fear over rising antisocial behaviour and drug use in their communal areas
Kidderminster: It’s been a tough time for folks living in a flat block on Horsefair. The place is becoming a hotspot for antisocial behaviour, and residents are really worried.
Georgia Price, a resident, shared some shocking photos. They show syringes, blood, and even faeces in the shared areas. She’s scared for her little boy, Harley-James, after he found a crack pipe in the hallway.
She’s not alone in her concerns. Caitlyn Clarke, who lives there with her two-year-old son, said it’s “horrendous.” She has to walk past people using drugs on the stairs, which is just not right.
Despite a visible police presence, things haven’t improved much. Georgia even posted a photo of a sign from Citizen and West Mercia Police, outlining what’s not allowed in the building. It’s a long list, including drug use and smoking in communal areas.
Peter Gill from Citizen said they’re aware of the issues and are working with the police to tackle them. But for now, they can’t say much while the investigation is ongoing.
Andy Stevens, a senior PCSO, reassured residents that they’re on it. They’re trying to engage with those causing trouble and support the community. But it’s clear that the situation needs urgent attention.
