Exciting plans are underway for micro apartments at Inverness Campus, aimed at supporting NHS Highland staff and students at Raigmore Hospital
The idea is to build around 100 living spaces right next to the National Treatment Centre Highland. If all goes well with the planning application, it’ll be a great addition to the campus, which has been growing since it opened in 2015.
The campus is already home to various businesses and educational institutions, so this new accommodation will fit right in. The proposal includes two blocks with a mix of studio and cluster rooms, designed to be cozy and functional.
The first phase will kick off with 38 studios and some accessible options, plus shared spaces like a kitchen and lounge. It’s all about creating a community feel for the residents.
The architects are also thinking about noise from the nearby A9 road and have plans to minimize its impact. They want to make sure the living spaces are comfortable and quiet.
Raigmore Hospital is not just a healthcare facility; it’s also a teaching hospital, so having nearby accommodation will be a huge help for students and staff alike.
There’s a public consultation coming up, so folks can check out the plans and share their thoughts. It’s an exciting time for Inverness Campus, and this development could really enhance the area.
