Home Bargains plans a store in Inverness. It will open at the old Wickes location on the Longman Industrial Estate. It looks like they will have a garden centre.

They applied to put up new signs, one saying “Garden World at Home Bargains”. Permission to open the store, located on Henderson Road, was granted back in December.

Home Bargains needed permission to sell food and other items. The council approved this with conditions, ensuring they cannot only sell food there.

Another Home Bargains store is planned for Smithton. That plan barely passed in December, with council members split on the vote. The store should create about forty jobs.

The Henderson Road store will make sixty jobs. Savills, their agent, said they would keep the Rose Street store and mentioned a garden centre, which the city store doesn’t have space for.

The Henderson Road store will use lots of space, with over 2700 square meters inside and 800 more square meters outside. Home Bargains recently opened a store in Dingwall.
