Carla Battiste faces serious charges after an altercation outside her home, but she claims she acted in defense of her daughter
Ipswich: So, there’s this woman, Carla Battiste, who’s in a bit of hot water. She’s accused of stabbing a woman and her daughter outside her home. It all went down in Trefoil Close, and it’s pretty wild.
According to the prosecutor, there was some serious bad blood between Carla and the younger woman. Turns out, the younger woman was dating Carla’s ex. They’d been trading some nasty messages online, which is never a good sign.
On September 10, 2021, things escalated. The younger woman showed up at Carla’s place with her mom waiting in the car. She started banging on the door and causing a ruckus, pulling down plants and all that.
Carla and her daughter were watching from inside, and Carla decided to call the cops. But then, things got physical. Carla and her daughter opened the door, and the two women started fighting right there in the front yard.
When the younger woman’s mom jumped out of the car to break it up, that’s when things got messy. Carla allegedly stabbed the younger woman in the back and her mom in the arm with a screwdriver. Yikes!
After she was arrested, Carla denied having a knife and said she didn’t mean to stab anyone. She claims she was just trying to push the younger woman away to protect her daughter.
Now, at 43 years old, Carla is facing some serious charges, but she’s not backing down. She’s denied two counts of wounding with intent, and the trial is still ongoing. It’s a tense situation for sure!
