AG Barr has decided to part ways with The Leith Agency, shifting its marketing to London’s Lucky Generals after nearly three decades.
Edinburgh: So, AG Barr has made a big move. They’re ending their long partnership with The Leith Agency and bringing in a London firm called Lucky Generals. It’s a pretty big change after 29 years of working together.
The Leith Agency has been behind some iconic Irn-Bru ads. Remember the funny ones? Like the Christmas special with The Snowman flying over Scotland? Classic! And who could forget the hilarious Fanny ad about naming a baby?
Ed Brooke from The Leith Agency shared how special this partnership has been. He said it’s rare for client-agency relationships to last that long, and they’ve created some memorable work together. It’s bittersweet for them, but they’ll always have love for Irn-Bru.
This shift comes after Roger White, the long-time CEO of AG Barr, stepped down last year. Euan Sutherland, who has a solid background in various companies, is now at the helm.
Lucy Henderson, AG Barr’s marketing director, mentioned that while they’ve had a great run with The Leith Agency, they felt it was time to explore new options. Lucky Generals won the pitch, and they’re excited about what’s next for Irn-Bru.
They’ll still work with The Leith Agency for a bit to ensure a smooth transition. Lucky Generals is known for their creative campaigns, like the one for Yorkshire Tea featuring Sean Bean. It’ll be interesting to see how they take Irn-Bru forward!
