The family of John George has announced the postponement of his funeral, following his tragic death in Spain
John was found dead in Rojales, Spain, last week. He had been missing since December 14, and his body was discovered under trees on a farm. His family had been searching tirelessly for him, and many supporters even traveled to Spain to help.
His sister, Courtney, posted on social media about the cancellation of the funeral arrangements. She promised that updated plans would be shared soon. John’s remains were flown back to Dublin, where undertakers took care of everything.
He was just 37 years old and a devoted father to two boys, Jason and Jacob. The family is heartbroken, and a funeral notice highlighted how much he will be missed by everyone who loved him.
Books of condolence are open at O’Neill Funeral Directors in Belfast. Meanwhile, Spanish police are still investigating his death. A 32-year-old man from the Czech Republic was arrested but has since been released on bail. Authorities are also searching for another suspect who may have fled the area.
John last spoke to his family on December 14. They learned he had lost his phone but was supposed to fly back to Belfast on December 18. Interpol is now involved in the investigation, working alongside Spanish authorities to get to the bottom of this tragic situation.
