MP Kate Osamor is appointed as a UK trade envoy to East Africa. Her mission: to boost trade and investment for the UK.
Her job involves finding trade chances. She will also look for investment options in those four countries. The goal is to boost the UK’s economy.
Trade Secretary Jonathan Reynolds announced this and named 32 new trade envoys in total. These envoys come from different political parties, targeting markets across six continents.
Each market has big potential to grow UK trade significantly. Reynolds wants to boost economic growth using trade and sees investment as key for change.
Osamor said she is excited and wants to work closely with partners. Together, they can strengthen ties, foster collaboration, and achieve shared prosperity.
The British High Commission in Kenya added that Osamor will find trade chances and seek investment opportunities there. This should drive job creation.
