Lidl has opened a new, larger store in Wells, Somerset, creating 20 jobs and offering special promotions for shoppers this weekend
Wells: The new Lidl supermarket on Strawberry Way opened today. It’s bigger and better than before. This new store offers a great shopping experience for everyone.
The store opened ahead of schedule, which is exciting news for the town. It’s a multi-million-pound investment that created 20 new jobs. Existing staff are also back to help out.
To celebrate, shoppers can enjoy special Lidl Plus offers. There will also be free food sampling all weekend long. It’s a great time to check out the new store!
The store’s opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 10 pm, and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. So, there’s plenty of time to visit.
New facilities include a customer toilet with baby changing amenities. The car park is significantly larger, with more spaces for parents, children, and disabled parking. There are also electric vehicle charging points.
This new store has a sales area of 1,512m², nearly double the size of the old one. Lidl plans to open more stores across the UK soon.
They’re set to open eight new stores in early 2025, followed by around 40 more. This expansion will create about 400 new jobs.
Glen Stidever, Lidl’s regional head of property, expressed excitement about the new store. He thanked everyone for their patience during construction and looks forward to welcoming customers back.
