Hey, listen to this news from Helensburgh! A lot of people are upset about the leisure centre’s location. The Community Council meeting was really full.

People criticized the Council and architects. They didn’t like changes to the location, nor the building’s direction. It seems things are really mixed up.

The Library will close, I heard, and its space will be given to leisure activities. This messed up other groups, as Fun First can’t find other places. Sarah Davies said seven places are too small.

Paul Kennedy said the Library will move to the Hermitage Park building. Fitness classes will happen at Victoria Halls. He announced this at the meeting.

Sarah Davies thinks information is hidden, stating that Live Argyll isn’t clear online. They must ask councillors for updates, which is really inconvenient.

Maurice Corry had to leave for another meeting, but said Live Argyll wants to reopen the centre. They are helping people in the meantime, he spoke at the Civic Centre.

Corry told everyone their plans changed fast, just the day before. The board wants programs running somewhere and he promises they are trying hard.

Corry said he secured money for the centre, getting £5 million from the MoD. He doesn’t want it to fail and is sure it will work out later. He called the situation awful.
