Llandrindod: It looks like Prime Meats Wales has closed its doors for good. The owner, Marcus Green, has been dealing with health problems, which led to this unfortunate situation.

He opened the shop on Temple Street just last September, bringing back a butcher to the town after a long absence. The previous butcher, J Williams and Son, had closed in February 2023 after serving the community for decades.

Now, the blinds are drawn, and social media posts suggest that the shop won’t be reopening. Even the Facebook page has vanished. A comment on a local Facebook group confirmed the closure, mentioning the owner’s health issues.

Mr. Green had a great start, thanking customers for their support during his first week. But now, the shop is empty, and the town is left without a butcher once again.

Across the street, the J O Davies Spar sells meat from Watsons Family Butchers in Rhayader. Locals are hoping for a new butcher to pop up soon, as they believe Llandrindod can support one.
