Daniel Bryan, 30, from London, faces six and a half years in jail after police found a modified pistol hidden in his sock in Maidstone.
Bryan traveled from Brixton to Maidstone. His car seemed suspicious to someone. Police located it on Ashford Road, near town. The police stopped Bryan’s car, and they detained him.
Officers searched Bryan after stopping the car. They discovered a gun in his sock. It sat under his jogging pants. Tests showed it fired real bullets. It was a modified starter pistol.
Police seized the weapon immediately. They charged Bryan, age 30, with a crime. He possessed an illegal firearm, they said. Bryan claimed he did nothing wrong. A jury disagreed, finding him guilty. This happened at Maidstone Crown Court.
On January 31, Bryan received his sentence. The court sent him to jail for six and a half years. He lives on Stofield Gardens in Eltham.
Police said he had no good reason for the gun. They said he should be in jail now. Unlicensed guns are not allowed in Kent. Patrols will keep looking for lawbreakers. They face long prison terms if caught.
