London is gearing up for Storm Eowyn, bringing strong winds and heavy rain this Friday. Stay safe and secure your outdoor items!
London: Storm Eowyn is on its way, and it’s not holding back. We’re talking winds that could hit nearly 50mph and some heavy rain, too. This storm is being called a “weather bomb,” and it’s set to shake things up this Friday.
This is the fifth named storm to hit the UK since October, and it’s expected to bring some serious gusts. The Met Office is warning that these winds could even bring down trees and cause some damage.
Other areas might see winds over 80mph, which could lead to power cuts and travel issues. So, it’s a good idea to be prepared. A yellow wind warning is already in place for parts of Scotland and all of Northern Ireland.
While the start of the week will be pretty calm with cloudy skies and some rain, things are about to get wild in London come Friday. The Met Office is keeping a close eye on this storm, and they’re advising everyone to stay updated.
Chris Almond, a deputy chief meteorologist, mentioned that a deep low-pressure system is moving in, and it’s going to bring some disruptive weather. Winds will start picking up on Thursday night, and Friday is when we’ll really feel the impact.
They’re also suggesting that folks secure any loose items outside, like bins and garden furniture, just in case. And don’t forget to have some torches and batteries ready in case the power goes out.
After Eowyn, there’s another low-pressure system that might bring more wet and windy weather on Sunday. So, it looks like we’re in for a bit of a rough ride!
